Lake Rules

In order for us to continue to provide an exceptional fishing experience at Lake Calver and to keep our fish in top condition we have sensible rules which all residents and guests must adhere to. This not only ensures great fishing but also means that the lake remains a peaceful, stunning place to relax and unwind. We thank you for your co-operation.

Protecting the fish
• Maximum three rods per angler
• Rods must not be left unattended when lines are in the water
• No sacking or retaining of fish allowed
• All fish caught MUST be returned to the lake they were caught from. Under no circumstances must fish be killed or moved to other lakes.
• Anglers must use carp cots, weigh slings and landing nets to ensure large carp can be handled safely
• A suitable antiseptic treatment (such as Klin-Ik) must be used at all times
• Minimum 15lb mono mainline, no bent hook rigs or braided mainline, micro-barb or barbless hooks only, maximum size 4’s
• Particles - anglers can bring their own if it's branded prepared. Maize can be purchased at the lake, anglers just need to let Phillipe know on arrival.
• No lead core or leaders
• No fixed leads or safety clips that can eject leads.
• You must not stand up and hold fish for photographing. The fish must be held as close to the ground and unhooking mat as possible and returned to the lake inside a sling or mat.

Use of the facilities
• Please remove muddy boots before entering any of the facilities
• Cars must only be parked in car parks due to the lack of access and steep slopes
• Alcohol is permitted on site, but must be used sensibly in order to ensure the safety of the fish and to avoid causing a general annoyance to other anglers
• Strictly no guns
• No smoking inside the facilities
• Please do not put anything other than toilet paper down the toilets – our facility uses a septic tank and any other object will block the pipes and you will be held responsible for the cost of the unblocking!
• Please let Phillipe know immediately of any missing items, breakdowns or defects, so that we can rectify the problem rapidly
• Please leave the facilities as you found them, in a clean and tidy condition
• Please respect the tranquility of the neighbourhood by keeping noise to acceptable levels

General
• All anglers must read and abide by these rules.
• Purchasing a ticket/booking a holiday ensures that you, and any others in your party agree to be bound by these rules.
• The management reserves the right to withdraw permission to fish without stating a reason.
• No responsibility is accepted for injury, loss or damage of property or loss of life.
• Please report any incidents or accidents to the Phillipe in order for them to be recorded.
• Bait boats allowed
• Life Jackets must be worn in the rowing boat at all times
• No lakeside fires please, other than the barbeque in the picnic area
• Please use the bins provided for litter and cigarette ends
• No swimming in the lake
• Under 14’s must be accompanied by an adult at all times
• The management reserve the right to inspect fishing tackle and other equipment
• We accept no responsibility for any damage or loss to equipment or vehicles which may occur whilst at Lake Calver

IMPORTANT NOTE ON SAFETY
FIRE HAZARD – Please ensure that equipment involving any naked flame or spark is properly extinguished and stored safely when not in use. Ensure that cigarette ends are fully extinguished and disposed of in a responsible way. All fuel must be stored in the correct containers and away from all sources of ignition.
